Financial advice should be regulated and insured
Financial scams are common. In most cases, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. You can usually identify a regulated firm by their professionalism and determination to put proper long-term planning in place with your full input and understanding. If you’re unsure of international regulation, or what you should expect from an advisory firm, contact us.
We maintain our directory of international financial regulators to help pension members check the status of their advisory firm. Our financial regulation directory is comprehensive. If your jurisdiction is not listed, please let us know.
EU Financial Regulation & Passporting
Those living in the EU can take advice from a regulated firm in another EU country if they are using regulatory ‘passporting’ permissions.
EU passporting permissions allow regulated advisory firms to deliver their advice internationally, across borders within the EU. Check the directory, and check the firm register for the regulator in your jurisdiction. An international firm may be regulated where they are based, rather than where you live. Ensure any adviser you deal with is insured and approved for any cross-border advisory activities.
We only link to regulated UK and international financial advisors
We work closely with a panel of reputable internationally regulated firms. Our panel have all completed a comprehensive due diligence and vetting process with use and we hold evidence of their regulatory status and insurance. We would not refer our visitors on to unregulated firms or individual one-man operators.
